Busy Bisnett Bees

It's been a long time since I posted on this site. Blogging on Giana's site takes my last bits of energy at the end of the day. We had a whirlwind of a summer and now we're into fall. Amazing how time flies when you are busy from the moment you wake up until the moment you hit the pillow. I have been doing the nicu dance and spreading myself very thin to try to be everything to everyone who needs me, basically a heightened sense of motherhood. My heart remains in two places, with Giana in the nicu and with my boys at home. The boys have been busy too!

Jacob has begun kindergarten and is a sponge for knowledge. He is obsessed with legos, jimmy neutron video game, and learning about the workings of the human body. His retention of information is impressive.

Benjamin is in a testing-his-limits phase. From day to day he's attached to a person or an inatimate object like his beloved drawing board or some other art-related toy. He and Eli both have tempers that are scary and they don't get that from Rob or I.
Ben's drawings and fine motor skills are beyond his three year old self. His use of language is wild too, he's a perfectionist when it comes to saying words correctly and changing tenses.

Eli is a little monkey, climbing on anything that he can scale whether it be a bookcase, piano, armoire, or table. He keeps me on my toes the most! He wants nothing more than to be in the mix with his big brothers and play. He will repeat any words that we ask him to and is increasingly conversational. His cheeks are still munchable and he is our title-holding eating machine.

Giana continues to amaze the doctors and we are learning what her limits are respiratorily. She's intubated again after a long run on the FP machine. We will learn soon what's next for her regarding rib surgery, etc. Her story is still a daily blog on her very own website. I've decided that her site will end when she comes home and I'll update on everyone at this site only. Before her recent intubation she had begun to be very smiley, playful, and more alert each day. Her big brothers can't wait to have her home!
